Redispersible Polymer Powder (RD Powder) is a free-flowing, water-soluble polymer powder manufactured by the advanced spray-drying of high-performance aqueous Vinyl Acetate-Ethylene (VAE) emulsions. When mixed with water in dry-mortar formulations, it re-emulsifies back into a liquid polymer film. This film interlaces with the hydration products of cement to create a robust, flexible polymer network. This dual-matrix structure significantly enhances the mortar's internal cohesion, flexibility, and adhesion properties over difficult or smooth substrates.

Performance Advantages

  • Superior Bond & Tensile Strength: Dramatically improves adhesion to traditional cementitious surfaces, plywood, existing tiles, and thermal insulation boards, minimizing debonding risks.

  • Excellent Structural Flexibility: Lowers the modulus of elasticity of rigid mortars, allowing the compound to absorb structural stresses, thermal expansion, and mechanical vibrations without cracking.

  • Optimized Workability & Water Retention: Enhances the thixotropic behavior and trowel application smoothability of fresh wet mortar, while reducing water loss into porous substrates.

  • Enhanced Weather & Impact Durability: Improves the freeze-thaw stability, water repellency, and abrasion resistance of exterior renders, self-leveling floors, and skim coats.

Primary Industrial Applications

  • Tile Adhesives & Joint Fillers: The essential binder for manufacturing high-performance, sag-resistant, and flexible tile adhesives (C1/C2 standards) for large-format tiles and outdoor installations.

  • Wall Skim Coats & Putty: Formulated into internal and external wall putties to achieve smooth application finishes, high impact resistance, and excellent sanding properties.

  • External Insulation & Finish Systems (EIFS/ETICS): Acts as the primary bonding and reinforcing mortar additive for securing insulation boards and basecoat mesh layers.

  • Self-Leveling Underlayments: Enhances flowability, wear resistance, and flexural strength in self-leveling floor compounds to ensure a smooth, durable finish.

  • Repair & Non-Shrink Mortars: Used in structural patch repair systems to guarantee exceptional bonding to old concrete surfaces and minimize shrinkage cracking.

Storage & Handling

Store in original, tightly sealed packaging in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse environment. Protect from moisture, high pressure (stacking height limits), and temperatures exceeding 30°C to prevent thermoplastic caking or lump formation. Open bags must be completely sealed after use to prevent air-moisture contamination. When stored properly under standard dry conditions, the shelf life is up to 12 months. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and batch-specific Certificates of Analysis (COA) accompany every shipment.
